The Way Through Darkness: Why Guidance Matters for Children Who Lost Their Parents

When a child loses a parent, the world becomes unfamiliar. The places that once felt safe turn uncertain, and the future becomes something they can no longer clearly imagine. For thousands of children across Ukraine, war has taken not only homes and stability — it has taken the people who once held their hands and showed them the way forward.

Isaiah 30:21 says, “This is the way. Walk in it.”
These words remind us that even in the darkest moments, direction exists. Children who lost their parents are not simply in need of shelter or food — they are in need of guidance, of someone who can help them step into a future that feels possible again.

Lane of Trust was created exactly for this purpose. Through our partners on the ground, we help provide stability where life was shattered, care where there is loneliness, and direction where everything feels lost. We believe that every child deserves someone who walks beside them — not for a moment, but for as long as it takes for healing to begin.

Our mission is simple:
To make sure no child walks alone through the aftermath of war.
